TOWN ADMINISTRATOR

The Town of Tiverton (pop. 16,359) with a combined municipal and school department
budget of 58 million dollars, and 100 full-time municipal employees is seeking to hire a
Town Administrator, who shall be responsible to the seven-member Town Council for
the administration and management of the municipal government.

Responsibilities of the Town Administrator include but are not limited to: day-to-day
supervision of department heads, preparation of the annual budget, union and non-union
labor contract negotiations, grant writing, personnel management, administration of a
municipal budget, and the development of long-range goals and strategies.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree is required.
(Master’s Degree preferred) At least five years of administrative experience in a similar
environment is also required. Personnel management is preferred. Municipal or
government experience, familiarity with government finance, and experience with labor
relations and collective bargaining are desirable. Salary commensurate with

CUSTODIAL MAINTENANCE

The Town of Tiverton seeks to fill one full time, benefited, position as “Custodial Maintenance”
for the Department of Public Works. This advertisement is a general description of the
requirements for this position. A job description of duties, responsibilities, qualifications, and

The Custodial Maintenance position performs a variety of semi-skilled building maintenance
tasks and other unskilled and semi-skilled tasks at Town buildings and properties. To be
considered, candidates should possess the following minimum qualification: a high school
diploma or GED equivalent. It is preferred that the candidate has 2 or more years of building
maintenance or similar work experience. Three written references from former or current
employers should be submitted with application. A full employment history (formal resumes
preferred) and cover letter shall be submitted. A Class “A or B” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

TRUCK DRIVER/LABORER

The Town of Tiverton seeks to fill one full time, benefited, position as “Truck Driver/Laborer” for
the Department of Public Works. This advertisement is a general description of the requirements

PART-TIME ZONING OFFICER

The Town of Tiverton seeks to fill the part-time position of Zoning Officer, responsible for ensuring
compliance with state and local laws and regulations relating to zoning, land use, building construction
and maintenance, public health and safety, minimum housing standards, nuisances, blight and other
matters of public concern. Duties include conducting inspections, preparing and tracking enforcement
actions, and providing information and assistance to businesses, residents, the general public, and
other Town departments and offices. The successful candidate will have several years of experience
with code enforcement, be able to work independently as well as collaboratively, and able to respond
to inquiries, complaints, and requests for service in a timely, fair, tactful, and firm manner. Ability to
read maps, legal documents, and descriptions, prepare and maintain accurate records, and use
computer programs and technology required. Additional requirements and a full job description may

Annual salary, $28,000 - $33,000 based upon 19 hours per week.
